How It Works

At National Housing Disrepair, we make the housing disrepair claim process simple and stress-free. If your home has problems like damp, leaks, or broken fittings that your landlord hasn't fixed, we’re here to help you get the repairs and compensation you deserve.

Step 1

Tell us about the Problem

Start by contacting us and explaining what is wrong with your home. Whether your bathroom is leaking or your plaster is crumbling, we want to hear about it. You can reach out by phone, email, or our online form.

Step 2

We check your claim

Once we know the details, we check if your case meets the requirements for a housing disrepair claim. We look at things like the type of damage, how long the issue has been ongoing, and whether your landlord was informed but did nothing.

Step 3

Sign the CFA (No Win, No Fee Agreement)

If your claim is valid, we will ask you to sign a Conditional Fee Agreement (CFA). This means you do not pay anything unless we win your case. After signing, you will get a 14-day cooling-off period in case you change your mind.

Step 4

We collect evidence

Our team will help you gather the proof needed for your case. This may include photos, repair records, doctor notes (if your health is affected), or any messages to your landlord. We work closely with expert solicitors who manage your claim professionally.

Step 5

We notify your Landlord

Your landlord will be officially informed of the claim. They may offer to fix the damage quickly, or our legal team may negotiate on your behalf to make sure everything is handled properly.

Step 6

You get the outcome

If your claim is successful, you may receive: repairs to your property, financial compensation for stress, damage, or extra costs. Our fees will be taken from the compensation amount. If your claim is not successful, you pay nothing.

We are With You Every Step

From start to finish, National Housing Disrepair supports you with clear advice and personal care. We believe every tenant deserves a safe, well-maintained home—and we will help you stand up for your rights.
